Course Catalog

Learn to play or add to your experience on the violin, cello, mandolin, viola or guitar! Beginners will learn basic bowing technique, one-octave scales, open strings and first position fingered notes. Instructor is qualified to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced students. When you register, let us know which instrument you want to learn. Renting an instrument (at Books N More, Bemidji or Bridge of Harmony, Brainerd) is an option if needed. At your lessons, you will discuss with Jeff which music book to purchase.

*Private lessons are offered on Wednesdays and virtual lessons are offered on Thursdays. To register for a private lesson between 11 - 8 pm during the school year. Please contact Community Education at 218-237-6600 to register.

Fee is $60 for an hour lesson. You also have the option for a half hour lesson which is $30/lesson.

**Jeff Menten of Pine-to-Prairie Music has been teaching music lessons for over 40 years. He earned his music degree in Violin Performance at U of MN, Mankato and continued his studies with post-graduate courses in Education at universities in Texas and MN. Jeff is also an award-winning professional musician. He is qualified to teach beginning through advanced students.
