STEAM Classes

Grades 3-6

James Webb Art Project

Inspired by the groundbreaking imagery from the James Webb Space Telescope, students will explore astronomy and art together. They will use watercolor, paint markers, metallic pens, and spattering techniques to create their own galaxy paintings and constellation art. Optional access to a phone, tablet, or laptop allows students to view real NASA images and connect their art with actual science. This class blends creativity with curiosity, encouraging kids to dream big and explore the universe through artistic expression.

Monster Pots + Trading Cards

In this fun and imaginative class, students will create their own air-dry clay monster pots inspired by the artwork of James DeRosso. They will learn hand-building clay techniques, explore texture and expression, and bring their monsters to life with paint and decorations. Then, they’ll design and illustrate their own custom monster trading cards to match their sculptures. This class builds artistic confidence, fine motor skills, and storytelling ability through art.

Engineering in Hot Wheels City

Students will explore real-world engineering and physics through Hot Wheels track construction. They will build and test custom layouts, including ramps, loops, and jumps, while learning about speed, force, momentum, and basic problem-solving. This class promotes creativity, design iteration, and critical thinking. Each student will get to share their designs and participate in fun engineering challenges.

LEGO Land Construction

Students will design and build their own miniature LEGO cities using baseplates and a variety of bricks. This class encourages creativity, collaboration, and basic engineering concepts. Students will learn about structural balance, spatial awareness, and how to plan and construct working cityscapes. They will walk away with stronger problem-solving skills and increased confidence in design thinking.
