Beginner 1 Blueberry Watercolor- Darcy will instruct you on basic watercolor skills such as gradients, mixing color, and techniques. You will draw shapes and instructed how to use tonal values to highlight those shapes. You will also do a quick study in creating a blueberry painting. All supplies are furnished. Bring along your imagination and open your mind to a new hobby with Darcy. Note: if you own a journal please bring it with you to do your studies in, if not consider investing in one. This class is for absolute beginners or those who want to brush up on their skill. Ages 14+
Beginner 2 Poppies in Summer Watercolor- Darcy will instruct you on tips and tricks for creating a floral watercolor with use of background adaptations. This class is a followup to the first beginners class, however, you will be using more advanced artist pigments. Create a loose watercolor and develop a more painterly watercolor. You will finish aa 9 x 12 painting that will be ready for framing. All supplies are furnished, but you are encouraged to bring along a hair dryer to speed drying time. This class is for beginners who want to advance their technique with a qualified watercolor instructor. Ages 16+
Intermediate 1 Minnesota Winter Woods Landscape Watercolor- You will receive instruction on how to view landscapes and create the illusion of distance and foreground. Artist quality pigments and supplies are furnished. Tonal values, shapes and sky are the emphasis in this class. Color mixing, and wet into wet techniques will be used along with layering your painting. Supplies are furnished but students are encouraged to bring a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. We will finish a 9 x 12 painting that will be ready for you to frame. Please bring along a sack lunch as there will be a 30 minute break. All paintings are critiqued by the instructor. This class is for those who have done a few classes in watercolor or have done them on their own. Ages 16+
